University of Birmingham – Update to Agent Partners on Support for Quarantine Costs

Support for Students Undertaking Quarantine on Arrival in UK (‘Red List’ Countries)

We know that many of your applicants may have concerns about travelling to the UK for their studies especially given the increased challenges and costs they may face if arriving from a country on the UK Government’s ‘red list’. As a valued partner we wanted to make you aware of an important decision we have made to support these students in these difficult circumstances.

We want to make sure that the challenges don’t get in the way of your applicants’ decision making and are therefore pleased to announce that we will cover the costs of the required period of hotel quarantine for any self-financing students that are travelling to Birmingham directly from a country currently on the ‘red list’. This will be covered by applying a tuition fee discount of GBP£1,750*.

We look forward to welcoming your applicants to the University of Birmingham and we hope that this measure will help to make planning for you applicants a bit easier and offers some reassurance. We will be in touch again shortly with more information and further details about our plans for welcoming and supporting applicants.

*Countries on the ‘red list’ as of 24/06/2021. Countries added to the ‘red list’ after this date will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
