I hope you and the team are well. I wanted to get in touch to share with you the news that Edge Hill University has created a generous Covid support package for international students arriving at the University from September 2021.
The UK government has implemented a ‘traffic light’ system whereby countries fall into red, amber and green categories. These categories determine whether or not students will need to quarantine (as well as the length of time needed in quarantine) and when they will need to provide a Covid-19 test.
Green list – No quarantine period required upon entry to the UK.
Amber List – Upon arrival in the UK, a quarantine period of 10 days is required within a private residence.
Red List – Upon arrival the UK, a mandatory quarantine period of within a Government 10 days is required at a Government approved managed hotel.
In response to potential quarantine rules being needed upon a student’s arrival, Edge Hill University has put in place the following support package:-
Students Arriving from Amber List Countries
Students from Amber countries will be allowed to quarantine at Edge Hill University’s campus accommodation free of charge. Students will be provided with student wellbeing services and food packages.
Students Arriving from Red List Countries
The University will provide financial support to students who are required to enter Government quarantine. We will pay 50% of the quarantine fee which will be offered as a reduction in the student’s tuition fees.
