Changes in Post-Study Work Rights for International Students in New Zealand

Good news for students planning to Study in New Zealand The Government of New Zealand has come up with the following changes in the immigration rules that will impact post-study work rights for international students

One-year post-study open work visa will be provided to international students studying at level 4-6 and non-degree level 7 qualifications
Two-year post-study open work visa for international students studying at level 4 – 6 and non-degree level 7 qualifications outside Auckland if the study is completed by December 2021
A three-year post study work visa will be provided for international students studying at degree level 7 or above
International students studying at level 8 and specified on the Long Term Skills Shortage list will allow their partners to be eligible for an open work visa and the partner’s dependent children will also be eligible for fee-free domestic schooling
These changes will come into effect on 26 November 2018.
