About Aston University:

Aston University, a Public Research university in Birmingham, was established in 1895, which later on evolved into UK’s first College of Advanced Technology in 1966. It officially became University of Aston in Birmingham on receiving its Royal Charter on 22nd April 1966. Aston University was recognized by Times Higher Education for the second best teaching quality in UK in 2017. In 2018, Aston University was ranked in the top 55 universities in the UK by all major domestic and international league tables. It was ranked as the 42nd best university in the world under 50 years old in 2015 by QS. Aston University took the initiative of bringing the concept of Placement year, 50 years ago. 70% of Aston Students take a placement year which is the highest record in United Kingdom.

 

Campus and Campus Life:

Established in 1895, the University is situated on a 60 acre campus at Gosta Green in the city of Birmingham. Being a home to around 3000 students, the university has many amenities such as ports centers, swimming pool, 120 station gym, library, cafés, restaurants, pubs, shops, travel centre, hairdresser, health centre, and dentist, places of worship, opticians, a bank, automated teller machines and plenty of outside space. Aston University Library comprises 4 floors and possesses more than 250,000 books. The library provides online access to around 40 electronic databases and more than 3400 electronic journals. Aston is ranked 2nd in UK to boost the graduate salaries. Aston University has a Counseling and Mental well being service for the students support.
