📢 South East Technological University - SETU Update⭐

👉As we enter the final stage of recruitment for September 2026, please note the following important updates regarding applications, payments, visas, programmes and commission claims.

1.   Applications

  • Applications are now closed for all visa-required students.
  • Applications remain open for non-visa required students, subject to programme availability.

2. Accepting Offer Deadline

  • Friday, 3 July 2026 is the deadline for visa-required students to make a deposit payment to secure their seat.
  • Late payments or acceptances received after this date may be deferred to the next available intake.
  • Non-visa required students may accept offers, via the payment of a deposit, up to the July 31st.

3. Programme Availability

  • As programmes close, they will no longer appear in the programme drop-down menu on the application portal.
  • We will not be sending any further updates about programmes closing.

4. Student Payments & Acceptance Letters

  • Students who have paid €6,000 or more receive an Acceptance Letter.
  • We strongly recommend that all students obtain their Acceptance Letter before travelling to Ireland.

5. AVATS Numbers (Visa Required Applicants)  

Please remind all visa required applicants to:

  • Submit their visa applications as soon as possible.
  • Send their AVATS number immediately after submission.
  • AVATS numbers should be emailed to: [email protected]

6. Accepted Student Support

Accepted students continue to receive invitations to regular pre-arrival Zoom sessions covering:

  • Accommodation
  • Peer to Peer Student Platform
  • Airport transfers
  • Orientation for International Students
  • Irish Residence Permit applications
  • Student life at SETU

Please encourage your students to attend these weekly meetings on Zoom.

7. Scholarships

  • SETU Scholarships, Government of Ireland and Enterprise Ireland Claddagh Scholarship (China only) awardees have now been confirmed.
  • SETU is delighted to be welcoming ~20 scholars to SETU this year.
  • If one of your students has received a scholarship, this will impact commission calculations.

8. Commission Claims

From this year the staff member with responsibility for commissions will be Rachel Ni Neill

Following registration, SETU will provide each agency with:

  • A list of registered students recruited through your agency.
  • Details of any scholarships or entry awards received.
  • Please submit (once prompted) one invoice covering all campuses to: [email protected]
  • Full commission guidance will be shared after registration.

9. Partner Reviews & Training

During September and October, partners will be invited to:

  • Provide feedback to SETU
  • Undergo a recruitment performance review.
  • Receive SETU Recruitment Partner Training.

10. September 2027 Intake

SETU operates a single annual intake in September. Applications for September 2027 are expected to open in October 2026.
