USW update - Students paying deposits before passing credibility interview

Dear Colleagues

 

 

We are aware that some partners are asking students to pay small deposits e.g. £500-1000 at conditional/unconditional stage to secure their place at USW.

 

If your company are doing this, USW is supportive if the applicant is fully aware of the following:

  • Indian students will still need to pay 50% deposit to be eligible for CAS (please check the min. deposit amount on the offer letter if the student is from a different country).
  • Students will still need to meet conditions, pass credibility interview and complete CAS shield to be eligible for a CAS.
  • Any deposits paid will not influence the outcome of credibility interviews.
  • Any payments made directly to the university should be paid via CIBC https://www.southwales.ac.uk/international/fees-scholarships/pay-refunds/
  • Payments should be made by the student themselves or an immediate trust-worthy family member and not by a third party or unrelated person (as per usual payment guidelines).
  • Students will need to go through our refund process if they don’t meet all conditions/pass KIRA which can take some time.
